Jacob Earns G-MAC Athlete of the Week Honors
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - Lindsay Jacob of the Northwood women's soccer team earned the Defensive Athlete of the Week from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this week, Monday (October 7). It's her third career Athlete of the Week honor and the second honor for a women's soccer player this season.
Jacob led the Timberwolves to a 2-0 mark last week with two clean-sheet victories over Findlay (2-0) (October 2) and Tiffin (3-0) (October 5). She totaled 11 saves, allowing zero and playing 180 minutes on the week.
This year, she has three shutouts over her five games and has a .912 save percentage this season. She is inching her way up the career record books in just her second season. Her 18 career wins are two shy of the program record 20 set by Andrea Everett (2018-22), and her 10 shutouts are two away from tying the program record 12 set by Caroline Bonynge (2003-05).
Women's soccer is currently 5-0-4 overall and 3-0-2 in the G-MAC. Northwood travels to Kentucky on Thursday (October 10) for a matchup with Thomas More at 5 p.m.
