RECAP: Women's Soccer visited (RV) Cedarville on Saturday (October 4) for a bout between two of the top five teams in the G-MAC based on standings. Northwood capitalized on one of the very few chances to score early before holding on for a 1-1 draw with the Yellow Jackets.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Timberwolves opened the scoring in the 20'. Their only shot of the first half came when Addison Waito capitalized on a loose ball in the box following a Cedarville clearance attempt, firing home her first goal of the season and career to give Northwood a 1-0 lead.
  • Cedarville responded in the 31'. A deep corner to the far post was brought back into the six-yard box and finished to level the match at 1-1.
  • Despite being outshot 20-2 on the afternoon, Northwood's defense bent but wouldn't break. Goalkeeper Lindsay Jacob recorded seven saves to keep the game level.
  • Northwood's only shot on goal for the match proved to be all the offense needed for a result. The second half featured numerous offensive pushes by Cedarville, but Northwood's back line and Jacob's shot-stopping held firm to secure the 1-1 draw.
