Women's Tennis Earns 7-2 Win Over Tiffin

The Northwood University women's tennis team clinched at least a share of its third straight GLIAC Championship Saturday (October 12) with a 7-2 road victory over Tiffin.

The championship is the 10th in the last 11 years for the Timberwolves.  The Timberwolves are now 13-0 overall and in the GLIAC.  Tiffin falls to 14-2 overall, 11-2 in the GLIAC.

Tiffin entered the match with a chance to share the GLIAC Championship with a win, but Northwood came out strong in doubles.  NU earned wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions in doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading to singles. 

The Timberwolves continued their strong play in singles, taking five of the six matches. Four of their five wins came in straight sets.

On the day, Darina Berkova, Anastasiia Kazub, Anna Aniskina each went 2-0 on the day.

In GLIAC play this season, Northwood has gone 52-10 in singles (.839) and 27-6 (.818).

Northwood can claim the outright GLIAC Championship with a win at Ohio Dominican Sunday (October 13). Match time is set for 10 a.m.
