Women's Tennis Places Four On The All-GLIAC Teams

All-GLIAC Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's tennis team placed four players on the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team, the league announced Wednesday (April 28).

Amanda Bandrowski and Elizaveta Velichko each were named to the First Team. Rafaella Fulop earned Second Team honors, while Ekaterina Vorobeva was placed on the Honorable Mention Team.

Bandrowski came in as a transfer from Hope College and stepped right into the top of the Northwood singles and doubles lineups. She posted a 13-5 record at No. 1 singles and a 10-10 mark in doubles. She went 13-5 in conference singles for the Timberwolves.

Velichko had a breakthrough season in 2021, posting a 12-5 record at No. 2 singles and a 10-10 record at No. 1 doubles. A year ago, she had a 6-10 record in singles.

Fulop had a strong freshman season for Northwood playing at both the number three and number four position in singles as well as at two and three doubles. She posted a 12-5 overall record in singles and an 11-6 mark in doubles.

Vorobeva played mainly at the No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles position before injuries shortened her season. She ended the year with a 5-8 mark in singles and a 4-7 record in doubles.

Northwood finished the season with a 11-9 overall record while going 7-2 in GLIAC play. NU tied for second overall in the conference.
