Track Teams Compete At The Al Owens Invitational

The Northwood University track and field teams competed at the Al Owens Classic Saturday afternoon (April 20).

The event was scheduled to take place at the GVSU outdoor track, but was the running events were moved inside to the GVSU Turf Building.  The throwing events still took place outside. No team scoring was taken at the event.

Madison Pines placed second overall in the 1,500 meter run, clocking a 4:27.11.  Two Timberwolves placed in the 5,000 thanks to Danielle Miller (18:15.83 – second) and Chloe Theil (18:21.22 – fourth). Brittany Robichaud clocked a 10:20.79 in the 3,000 to finish third overall. 

On the men's side, Korvon Harris was second in the 60 with a time of 6.97.  Harris also placed fifth in the 200 at 22.52. Travis Blunt (49.94) and Wally Clay (49.94) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 400 meter dash.  The Timberwolves 4X400 meter relay team of Travis Blunt, Karmine Jarmon, Matt Williams and Wally Clay was third overall at 3:27.48.

Northwood will compete at the GLIAC Championships next weekend.
