Track & Field Gets Set To Compete At G-MAC Championships Wednesday (5/3)

MIDLAND, Mich. – Northwood track & field begins its postseason meets this Wednesday (May 3) at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championships. 

The 2023 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place at Ferguson Field on the campus of Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, May 3-5. The 2023 event will mark the ninth year for the G-MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The G-MAC Championships will once again be streamed live and free on the Great Midwest Digital Network.

Northwood's men's team is currently ranked seventh in the Midwest region, including multiple events in the national event squad rankings. Those event squads include 800m with Josh JonesDillan HavilandPreston Earl, and Elliot Lipe averaging 1:52.19, the 1500m with Jones, Haviland, Earl, and Brandon Boyd averaging 3:50.06, and shotput with Zechariah SticklerTravis SchepersWill Nemecek, and Nicholas Ball averaging 15.99m.

The event squads are currently ranked fifth in the 800m, eighth in the 1500m, and 10th in the shotput 

During the 2023 Indoor G-MAC Championships, Northwood men's team placed fifth with 70 points with two G-Mac Individual champions (Haviland (mile) and Stickler (shot put)) while the women's team placed tenth with two points.
