OVERVIEW – Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational
LOCATION: Muskegon, Mich.
RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams compete at the Jayhawk Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Muskegon Community College, Friday night (October 11)
INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (5,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed fourth out of 11 teams in the women's race, finishing with 121 points.
- Aquinas was the overall winner with 40 points, followed by Siena Heights at 96.
- A total of 105 runners competed in the race, with unattached competitor Casey Mossholder coming in first at 18:36.33.
NORTHWOOD RESULTS:
- Lainey Veenkant – Third overall: 18.51.56
- Madison Brooks – 27th: 20:13.03
- Katherine Wozniak – 33rd: 20:21.74 – personal-best
- Amanda Aquinaga – 37th: 20:24.27 – personal-best
- Olivia Haring – 69th: 22:10.07 – personal-best
- Amanda Kalkman – 82nd: 23:22.41
INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)
- The men's team had just one competitor in the event. Brian Patrick, who was an All-American a year ago but has been unable to compete so far this season, made his 2019 debut at the event.
NORTHWOOD RESULTS:
- Patrick: 27:49.89 – 32nd overall
