Cross Country Competes At Lewis Crossover

OVERVIEW – LEWIS CROSSOVER INVITE

LOCATION: Lewis Cross Country Course – Romeoville, Ill.

RECAP: Northwood men's and women's cross country competed at the Lewis Crossover Invite in Romeoville, Ill. On Saturday (October 7).

INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)

  • NU's women placed 28th with 723 points. The race included --- athletes from 33 teams. Colorado School of Mines took first with 49 points while Grand Valley st. took second (98 points) and Lewis placed third (131 points).
  • Sarah Zehr led the Timberwolves for the third straight meet setting another personal record in the process. The junior broke the top 100, cutting off over 45 seconds of her previous PR. Zehr placed 91st overall in 22:58.4.
  • Six of NU's 11 runners set new PRs during the race.

NORTHWOOD RESULTS:

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)

  • A total of 31 teams and 337 racers competed in Romeoville as Northwood took 31st with 952 points (pts.).
  • Ty Pichan led all Timberwolves, finishing 239th overall in 26:53.9. Jackson Turnbow finished just behind him in 26:55.2. Turnbow's finish was over a 40-second PR.
  • Four of NU's racers are freshman competing in their first collegiate 8K race.
