Bio

After spending 14 years as the head coach of the Northwood (MI) Baseball program, Joe Di Benedetto accepted a new position as an Assistant Athletic Director in charge of Facilities and Events. The 2022-23 athletic year is his 33rd at Northwood overall.

Di Benedetto, who has been a part of the Northwood University system since 1991, brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new role.  During his 9 years at the Northwood University Florida campus, he was the Head Baseball Coach and Athletic Director for the Seahawks. While there, he was a part of the campus adding a total of seven varsity sports.  After coming to Michigan to coach the Timberwolves, Di Benedetto was also in charge of overseeing all athletic facilities.

"We had a need in our department for someone to handle the facilities and events side of our operations," said Athletic Director Dave Marsh. "When considering filling this role, Joe was the first person I thought of. He has experience as an Athletic Director and was involved in facilities and events on our campus for many years.  We have always worked well together so I am excited for him to join our administrative staff."

Di Benedetto won 519 games as the coach of the Timberwolves and Florida campus Seahawks in his 24-year Northwood University coaching career.

Prior to Northwood University, Di Benedetto coached at The College of Boca Raton (Lynn University) where his teams posted a 3-year record of 95 wins and 44 losses.

Overall, DiBenedetto’s teams have won a total of 614 games during his 26-year coaching career.

Di Benedetto resides in Midland with his wife, Tammy, and has two grown children - Bradley and Hayley along with two grandchildren, Cash and Lainey.
