Bio
R. Gary Stauffer was not only a co-founder of Northwood University, he was the “Father of Northwood Athletics.” Stauffer was the driving force behind the athletic programs at Northwood and served as the first basketball coach in program history. Stauffer’s vision in the formative years of Northwood allowed the athletic department to develop competitive programs at the league, regional, and national levels.
