Bio

Janet Frank was one of the pioneers of wome's sports at Northwood. She became the first woman in Northwood history to become an All-American, earning the honor in the 600 meter run at the NAIA Indoor Championships in 1985. Frank was also a member of three relay teams (Mile, 400, Sprint Medley) that qualified for the NAIA Championships in 1984. She still holds the school record in the indoor 4x400 relay with a time of 4:00.02, set in 1985. As importantly, through her efforts and determination, she helped start the women’s track and field program at Northwood in 1983. Frank also was a part of the very first volleyball team in Northwood history, playing during the 1982 season.
