Maurice Ware is the only football player in Northwood football history to earn All-America honors three straight seasons (1988, 1989, 1990). His 50 receptions during the 1990 season still stands as the season record at Northwood. Ware also holds the school record for catches in a game with his 16 receptions against Saginaw Valley State in 1988. His 93 yard reception in 1988 against Indianapolis is the longest in school history. Ware is second in program history with 1,982 receiving yards and third with 134 receptions. He was a 1988 Second Team NAIA All-American from the Football Gazette and a Honorable Mention NAIA Division I All-American in 1989 and 1990.
