Bio

Tyrone Nelson will go down as one of the greatest offensive linemen in school history.  A four-year starter for the Timberwolves, Nelson was a tackle when the “Woodbone” offense took off.  He claimed First Team All-GLIAC honors in both his junior and senior season.  Following the 1998 campaign, Nelson was honored as the GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year.  That same season, he was also honored as an AFCA First Team All-American as well as an AP Little All-America Second Team.  Thanks in part to Nelson’s efforts, the 1998 team set 24 team and individual records and scored at least 28 points in nine of their 10 games.  He was the starting tackle for fellow Hall of Famer Sleepie Tollie.
