Bio

Madison Pines was a true standout in many ways for Northwood University. She holds seven school records for the women’s track & field program in middle distance events. The 2013 GLIAC Champion in the 1500 meters, Pines qualified for the NCAA Championships six times in her career. She won the prestigious “Elite 89” award twice at the NCAA Championships, given to the student-athlete at the competition with the highest individual grade point average. Pines was also a four-year starter for the women’s soccer team at left back and a captain of the 2014 team.  She joined the 2012 cross-country team for one race - the NCAA Regional meet. With just three days of preparation, Pines narrowly missed All-Region honors by finishing 26th out of 158 runners, helping Northwood to its highest team finish in program history (seventh). She was the valedictorian of the class of 2013, graduating in three years.
