Bio

Chelsea Hunter is now in her eighth year as a member of the Northwood University athletic staff.  She is the Assistant Athletic Director for the Timberwolves, overseeing compliance.

Hunter was previously the head coach of the women's soccer program at Northwood from 2018-2023. She finished with a 34-41-6 overall record, winning 10 games in 2021 and 2022 which marked just the second time in program history to have back-to-back 10-win seasons.

Over her last four seasons, the team went 32-28-5 overall and 23-18-4 in conference play. The 23 conference wins are the most over a four-year stretch in school history. Hunter's 2022 team won nine games in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, which is a program record for conference wins in a season. The team also produced winning seasons in each of the last two years, marking the first time since 1998-99 Northwood had back-to-back winning seasons.

In January of 2021, Hunter was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director as well as Compliance Assistant.

She led Northwood to a 10-9 overall record in the 2021 fall season, marking the first winning season for Northwood since 2004. NU's six conference wins were the most in program history

NU went 3-5-1 overall in the spring 2021 season. The Timberwolves picked up wins against rivals Davenport and Saginaw Valley, ending the year with two wins in their three home games.

The 2019 season was a breakthrough for the program under Hunter's leadership. The Timberwolves improved from two wins overall to a 9-9-1 record. NU also went 5-4 in the GLIAC, marking the first time since 2002 that Northwood had a winning record in conference play.

Hunter has spent 2017 and 2018 as an assistant coach at Northwood. The Timberwolves posted 12 victories in those seasons, which included an 8-8-1 record in 2016. That marked the first time since 2004 Northwood had earned a record of .500 or above.

Prior to working at Bellarmine, Hunter coached at Kentucky Fire Juniors (KFJ) from 2010-2015. She was responsible for coaching youth, aging from U8 to U14 levels. Hunter also worked as an intern with the Alliance of Women Coaches while in college. She assisted the Director of Education with the NCAA & Alliance training programs in 2012.
