Baseball Falls To Saint Joseph's 15-4

DAVENPORT, FLA. – The Northwood University baseball team dropped a 15-4 contest to Saint Joseph's Tuesday afternoon (March 8).

Northwood falls to 5-5 on the season. Saint Joseph's improves to 6-5.

The Pumas offense early on was the key to the game. Saint Joseph's scored 14 of their 15 runs in the first five innings of the game – three in the first, one in the third, three in the fourth and seven in the fifth. The Pumas had four home runs in that stretch – a grand slam and a trio of three run homers. NU's defense struggled in the game as well – seven Northwood errors in the game led to eight unearned runs for Saint Joseph's.

Northwood finished the game with nine hits and three walks. The Timberwolves left a total of 10 runners on base.

Connor Foley (Bay City, Mich./Western) led Northwood with three hits in four at-bats. Miles Hardy (Lake Orion, Mich.) came off the bench to finish with a pair of hits.

Northwood, having played five games in the last four days, will have tomorrow off. NU's next game is Thursday (March 10) against Ohio Valley. The doubleheader will begin at 10 a.m.
