Baseball Falls At Bellarmine 8-1

LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Northwood University baseball team dropped an 8-1 contest at Bellarmine Saturday afternoon (March 19).

Northwood is now 10-8 on the season. Bellarmine improves to 8-8 with the victory.

Bellarmine got on the board in the third inning with a pair of runs in the third inning. The Knights then made the score 6-0 with four runs in the fifth. NU got on the board with a run in the seventh, but Bellarmine came right back with two in the bottom of the inning to round out the scoring.

The Knights out-hit the Timberwolves 10-5 for the game. Northwood also committed the only two errors in the game.

Grant Bridgewater (Bay City, Mich./Western) went 2-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the way for Northwood. Daniel Pulver (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) also added a pair of hits for the Timberwolves.

After 18 straight games away from home to start the season, Northwood will play their first home games of the season when they host Findlay. The series, which will also open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play, begins Friday (March 25) with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
