NU/PACE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Pace opened the scoring in the top of the third inning, scoring two runs to take the early lead.
  • The Timberwolves came right back with the biggest inning of the game, coming through with seven runs in the bottom of the third. The first seven batters of the frame reached base and the scoring started with an RBI single by David Vinsky.
  • Javier Martinez followed with a two-run single, which was followed by an RBI single by Colin McClelland to lead 4-2.
  • After a Kyle Ziegler RBI groundout, Michael Karam followed with a two-run double to extend the advantage to 7-3 after three.
  • Northwood made it 8-3 in the fourth on a McClelland RBI double.
  • After the Setters scored a run in the fifth to cut the advantage to four, the Timberwolves came right back with four runs in the sixth. Martinez got things going in the inning with an RBI double to score Vinsky.
  • Later in the inning, Northwood got back-to-back run-scoring doubles. Karam posted his second two-run double of the game, followed by a Brian Dombrowski double to score Karam. That made the score 12-3.
  • Pace put up three runs in the seventh to round out the scoring.
