Kyle Ziegler Earns GLIAC Commissioner's Award
Spring GLIAC Commissioner's Award
MIDLAND, MICH. – Kyle Ziegler, a junior infielder on the Northwood University baseball team, has been named a recipient of a Commissioner's Awards from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
The awards are presented after the Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and on the fields of play.
Ziegler has been a three-year starter for Northwood both at shortstop and second base. This season, he batted .307 with four home runs and 36 RBIs. Ziegler finished the year ranked fifth in the GLIAC in stolen bases (14). For his career, he has batted .286 with nine home runs and 83 RBIs. Ziegler ranks eighth in NU history with 31 doubles.
A finance major at Northwood, Ziegler currently sports a 3.96 grade point average.
In his career, Northwood has gone 117-50 (.701), won two GLIAC Championships and GLIAC Tournament Championships and reached the NCAA Tournament three times.
