Baseball Downs Davenport 13-6 To Take Series

RECAP: Northwood baseball earns 13-6 win over Davenport to take three of four in the series Saturday (April 25).
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The Panthers wasted no time in the top of the first inning, adding two runs to take the early lead.
- Northwood got two back in the bottom of the inning. A two-run single from Rhett Evans down the left field line scored Matt Magno and Cole Brooks to even the score at 2-2.
- DU capitalized on three NU errors in the top of the second, adding three more runs and putting the score at 5-5.
- The Timberwolves responded with a huge second inning, beginning with a David Jeffers RBI single that drove home Logan Briggs.
- Brooks added a two-run single through the left side to bring home Jacob Rybicki and Michael Karam.
- Magno added another RBI single to right field to plate Jeffers.
- An Evans RBI groundout scored Brooks to cap the scoring in the inning, giving the Timberwolves a 7-5 lead.
- Northwood added one more run in the bottom of the third as Showers scored on a fielder's choice to extend the Northwood lead.
- A Karam three-run homerun pushed the NU advantage to 11-5 in the fifth inning.
- Showers put the score at 12-5 in the sixth, driving home Evans with an RBI single.
- An RBI single to left field from Connor Kin plated Magno, making it a 13-5 NU lead.
- The Panthers added a run in the top of the ninth, but it wasn't enough as The Timberwolves earned the 13-6 win.
