Baseball Loses Tough 11-10 Extra Inning Game At Saginaw Valley

GAME HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)

  • The Timberwolves took the early 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. A Mike Karam two RBI double to left field plated Logan Briggs and Rhett Evans.
  • An RBI single by Matt Magno scored Cole Brooks to extend the NU advantage to 3-0 in the top of the third.
  • The Cardinals responded in the bottom of the inning, plating three runs to even the score at 3-3.
  • SVSU added three runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning to take their first lead of the game, 6-3.
  • Northwood got two runs back in the top of the fifth, beginning with a Khale Showers RBI double. Briggs added an RBI single to plate Showers and put the score at 6-5.
  • A sacrifice fly from Brooks tied the game in the top of the sixth. Briggs then drew the bases loaded walk for NU to reclaim the lead at 7-6.
  • The Cardinals pushed two runs across the plate, putting the score at 8-7 in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Jacob Rybicki reached home in the top of the seventh to even the score.
  • The game reached the top of the eleventh inning until another run was scored. Rybicki plated a run on an error and Brooks added an RBI double to take the 10-8 lead.
  • SVSU stayed alive in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs to even the score.
  • Saginaw Valley won the game on a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the twelfth inning with an unearned run.
