Baseball Runs Win Streak To Six With Doubleheader Sweep Over Wayne State

RECAP: Baseball extends winning streak to six with a doubleheader sweep over first place Wayne State Saturday (April 23).
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)
- The Warriors drove home a run in the top of the first for the early 1-0 advantage.
- Khale Showers continued his hot hitting in the series with an RBI double to tie the game in the bottom of the second.
- Showers was brought home with a Blake Salamon RBI double as NU took the 2-1 lead.
- Wayne State evened the score with a solo homerun in the third.
- The Timberwolves claimed the lead back thanks to a Myles Beale RBI single, putting the score at 3-2.
- Northwood added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth as a Showers double brought home Matt Magno and Rhett Evans.
- Ben Clark added a 2-RBI single with two outs to give NU the 7-2 lead.
- WSU put one run on the board in the top of the seventh as Northwood went on to win the contest 7-3.

- A wild pitch in the fifth scored Joey Johnston to make it 3-0.
- A two-run single from Ben Clark drove in Blake Salamon and Showers in the bottom of the sixth.
- Matt Magno added a two-RBI single of his own in the inning for the 7-0 Timberwolf lead.
- Rybicki reached home on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to extend the NU advantage.
- A David Jeffers RBI single up the middle plated Salamon later in the seventh to make the score 9-0.
- NU added four more runs in exciting fashion with a Rhett Evans grand slam in the seventh to push the advantage to 13-0.
- The Warriors got on the board with three in the ninth to close out a 13-3 Northwood victory.
