RECAP: Northwood baseball finishes four-game sweep at Cedarville with a pair of wins Friday (March 17), picking up a 13-6 victory in game one before taking game two 17-7.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)

  • The Timberwolves got on the board in the top of the first inning on a two-run triple by Myles Beale.
  • Alex Cole pushed the lead to 4-0 in the first with a two-run single.
  • Northwood finished off their big first inning with a two-run single by Jacob Rybicki.
  • Cedarville responded in the bottom of the second, putting up five runs to make the score 6-5.
  • NU got a run in the fourth on an RBI single from Matt Magno to put the Timberwolves on top 7-5.
  • Rybicki brought home two runs for Northwood in the fifth on double that made the score 9-5.
  • The Yellow Jackets got back within three in the bottom of the inning.
  • Beale came right back in the top of the sixth with a solo homer from Beale to push the advantage to 10-6.
  • David Jeffers then made it 12-6 in the top of the seventh on two-run homer.
  • Joey Johnston rounded out the scoring with an RBI groundout.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)

  • Northwood came out fast in the first once again, starting with an RBI single by Magno.
  • Beale followed with a sacrifice fly, which was followed by a Wiegand two-run double to make the lead 4-0 after a half inning.
  • Magno earned his second RBI of the game with a run-scoring single in the top of the second that made the score 5-0.
  • The Yellow Jackets plated an unearned run in the bottom of the second that got CU within four at 5-1.
  • NU plated three runs in the third thanks to Wiegand being hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and a Cedarville error. That made the score 8-1.
  • A CU balk in the top of the fifth gave the Timberwolves another run and make the lead 9-1.
  • The Yellow Jackets put together a big inning of their own in the fifth, bringing home four runs to get within four at 9-5.
  • Northwood put the game away in the sixth, starting with a bases loaded walk from Rybicki.
  • Johnston followed with an RBI groundout which scored a second run on an error that put NU on top 12-5.
  • Beale was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to get the score to 13-5.
  • Rhett Evans brought home a pair with a double to get the lead to 10 at 15-5.
  • Alex Cole capped the eight-run sixth with a two-run triple, making the score 17-5.
  • Cedarville scored a pair in the bottom of the seventh to make the final 17-7.
