RECAP: Northwood baseball earns its fifth straight win, downing No. 20 Wayne State 7-4 Tuesday (March 21).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)

  • Northwood opened the scoring in the top of the second inning on an RBI double from Alex Cole.
  • NU then made it 2-0 in the second when David Jeffers was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
  • Wayne State got on the board in the bottom of the second to send the game to the third with the score 2-1.
  • Northwood responded right way in the third with an RBI double from Blake Salamon followed by a run-scoring single from Myles Beale to make the score 4-1.
  • WSU scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to 4-2.
  • The Timberwolves used the long ball in the sixth to extended their lead. Jacob Rybicki's two-run shot pushed the advantage to 6-2.
