RECAP: Baseball extends its winning streak to nine games with a pair of wins at Tiffin Sunday (March 26), taking game one 11-4 before winning game two 14-3.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)

  • Northwood wasted no time getting rolling in game one, getting on the board first on a Matt Magno RBI single in the top of the first.
  • NU made it a three-run opening inning thanks to Blake Salamon. His two-run homer made the score 3-0 after a half inning.
  • Tiffin got one back in the bottom of the inning to get within two at 3-1.
  • David Jeffers got his big day going with a two-run homer in the top of the second to get the NU lead to four runs.
  • Joey Johnston added a solo homer of his own in the fourth.
  • Magno drove home Northwood's seventh run of the game on a sacrifice fly later in the fourth to make the score 7-1.
  • Alex Cole gave the Timberwolves a seven-run lead in the fifth with an RBI single.
  • Tiffin fought back, scoring two in the fifth and one in the sixth to get within four at 8-4.
  • That proved to be the last time the Dragons would score, however, as the Timberwolves finished strong in the seventh. Rhett Evans got the lead back to five with an RBI single.
  • Cole brought home another run with a single, which was followed by Jeffers RBI double to make the final 11-4.

  • Salamon's two homers on the day give him nine for the season, which ties him for the G-MAC lead with Curtis Zach of Kentucky Wesleyan.
