RECAP: Northwood extends its winning streak to a school-record 13 games with a pair of wins over Findlay Monday afternoon, taking game one 4-2 and game two 10-5.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Oilers struck first, hitting a two-RBI double for the early 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
  • Myles Beale homered to right field to cut into the Findlay lead in the bottom of the second, putting the score at 2-1.
  • The Timberwolves reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the third, going up 4-2. Northwood started the scoring by taking advantage of a Findlay throwing error on a David Jeffers bunt to bring home Joey Johnston. Jacob Rybicki added an RBI single to plate Jeffers, followed by a Matt Magno sacrifice fly to score Rybicki.
  • Neither team was able to plate a run for the final four innings as Northwood earned the 4-2 victory.

  • Matt Magno got the Timberwolves rolling in the bottom of the first with a two-run home run to left field.
  • NU extended their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second thanks to a solo shot from David Jeffers.
  • The Oilers added a homerun of their own in the top of the third to put the score at 3-1.
  • A sacrifice fly scored Findlay's second run of the game in the top of the fourth.
  • The Timberwolves broke the game open in the fifth, plating five runs. NU got rolling thanks to a Rhett Evans three-run homer to left field.
  • Jeffers continued the scoring in the inning, doubling down the right field line to bring home Joey Johnston. Jacob Rybicki added an RBI single to give NU the 8-2 advantage.
  • Evans added a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to score Blake Salamon and extend the lead to 9-2.
  • An RBI double by Alex Cole in the bottom of the eighth gave Northwood their final run of the contest.
  • The Oilers had a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth to make the final score 10-3.
