RECAP: Embry-Riddle rides a seven-run fifth inning to a 13-5 win over Northwood baseball Saturday (March 2).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood got on the board first in the opening inning on a Myles Beale sacrifice fly to score Logan Voth and put the Timberwolves on top 1-0.
  • NU had the bases loaded with no one out in the first but were only able to plate that single run.
  • After Embry-Riddle tied the score in the bottom of the second, the Eagles plated three more in the bottom of the third to take a 4-1 lead.
  • Beale got his second RBI of the day in the top of the fifth, connecting on a solo home run to make the score 4-2.
  • Later in the inning, Northwood got within one on a Joey Johnston sac fly.
  • Embry-Riddle responded with the key inning of the game in the bottom of the fifth, plating seven runs to turn a one-run game into an 11-3 Eagle advantage.
  • Alex Jarboe came off the bench to connect on a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 11-5.
  • The Eagles brought home a pair in the bottom of the eighth to close out the scoring.
