RECAP: Northwood baseball splits a pair of games at Ohio Dominican Saturday (April 27), with ODU taking game one 8-5 before NU posted an 11-4 win in game two.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)

• Ohio Dominican plated a pair of runs in the first inning for an early lead.
• ODU extended their lead to 5-0 with three runs in the third.
• Drew Charters got Northwood on the board in the top of the fourth. His two-run homer cut the Panthers' lead down to 5-2.
• Alex Cole got NU within two with an RBI single in the top of the fifth.
• After ODU scored one in the sixth to go up 6-3, Matt Magno connected on a two-run home run in the top of the seventh that put Northwood within one at 6-5.
• That would be Northwood's final run of the game, however, as Ohio Dominican scored one run in the seventh and one in the eighth to earn the 8-5 victory.
• Mistakes by the Timberwolves proved costly in the game, as five Northwood errors resulted in four unearned runs for ODU. The Timberwolves also left 12 runners on base in the game.

• Northwood used the home run ball in the opening inning to take control of the game, as Mango connected on a three-run homer and Blake Salamon hit a two-run homer.
• NU then made it 6-0 in the first inning on a double steal that scored Charters to make it 6-0 after a half inning.
• ODU got one back in the bottom of the first.
• Northwood came right back with four more runs in the second, starting with a Salamon RBI double.
• Cole brought home two runs on a single, which was followed by a squeeze bunt from Ben Clark that made the score 10-1.
• Ohio Dominican scored one in the bottom of the second to make the score 10-2.
• Charters added to the NU lead in the top of the fourth with a sacrifice fly that pushed the advantage to 11-2.
• The Panthers scored one run in both the sixth and the seventh to round out the scoring and make the final 11-4.
