Lawson Burnett joined the Northwood baseball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2022. Burnett works directly with the outfielders while assisting with the infielders and the hitters.

Burnett played for the Great Lake Canadians travel team in Ontario, Canada through his high school career. He began his collegiate playing career at St. Clair County Community College where he played for two seasons. Lawson’s freshman year he hit .331, and followed that up with a sophomore campaign that saw him hit .350 while playing both middle infield positions.

After his time at SC4, he transferred to Northwood University. Lawson played his junior and senior years at Northwood and was part of the 2021 team that qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional held at Lindenwood University in Missouri. He finished his senior year hitting .300 for the Timberwolves.

Originally from London, Ontario, Burnett graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School. Lawson holds an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from St. Clair County Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Northwood University. Burnett is currently working on earning his MBA from Northwood University.
