Football Falls At Ashland 35-10

RECAP: Ashland rides a fast start to a 35-10 win over Northwood Saturday afternoon (September 22).
INSIDE THE GAME
- Ashland got things rolling right away on their opening possession, going 90 yards on eight plays, capped by a touchdown run to go up 7-0 over Northwood.
- After a Northwood punt, Ashland put together another long drive. This time the Eagles went 85 yards in six plays. A one-yard touchdown run made the score 14-0 less than 10 minutes into the game.
- The Eagles made it a three-score came early in the second quarter. Ashland's third touchdown drive of the day went 75 yards to make the score 21-0.
- Northwood got on the board late in the opening half. The Timberwolves went 55 yards in six plays, capping the drive with a David Riser 31-yard field goal to send the game to the break with Ashland leading 21-3.
- Ashland made the score 28-3 with a touchdown drive early in the third quarter that covered 62 yards.
- After Ashland made it 35-3 early in the fourth quarter, Northwood got their first touchdown of the day. Starting with a 49-yard kick return by Jake Vincent, NU went 45 yards in five plays, capped by a Christian Martinez four-yard touchdown run to make the score 35-10.
- NU recovered an on-side kick after the TD, but did not take advantage of the opportunity. Neither team would score the rest of the way.
