INSIDE THE GAME

  • Ashland started the game fast, scoring 14 points in the first to hold a two-touchdown lead after one.
  • The Eagles added two more touchdowns in the second to extend their advantage to 28-0.
  • Northwood got on the board with their final possession of the first half. The Timberwolves went 62 yards in five plays, capped by a 47-yard diving touchdown reception for John Hall from Nate Gomez.
  • After Ashland added a touchdown early in the third, Northwood put together their second scoring drive of the night. A 13-play, 64-yard drive was capped by a Max Gonos 31-yard field goal that made the score 35-10.
  • Ashland made the lead 42-10 when the Timberwolves put together a drive, moving the ball all the way to the AU 10. Unfortunately, the drive ended on downs, which was immediately followed by an 88-yard touchdown for the Eagles that made the score 49-10.
  • A Northwood lost fumble on the following kickoff set up another AU touchdown that pushed their advantage to 56-10.
  • The Timberwolves rounded out the scoring on the night on an unusual play. Brec Alward carried the ball near the goal line but fumbled the ball forward towards the goal line. NU's Danny Krajweski fell on the ball in the endzone, giving the Timberwolves a touchdown to make the score 56-14
