Football Falls To Hillsdale 41-7

INSIDE THE GAME

• The Timberwolf defense forced the punt on Hillsdale's first drive but were flagged for running into the kicker. The Chargers took advantage of the second chance with a 15-play, 83-yard drive that took up 8:09. The possession resulted in a touchdown with under five minutes to go in the first quarter. Hillsdale would fumble the snap on the extra kick to keep the score at 6-0.
• Northwood got the ball back in great position by stopping Hillsdale on their fake punt attempt. However, the Charger defense was able to break up the Timberwolf pass and make a diving catch for the interception at the HC 42 yard line.
• With ten minutes to go in the second quarter, Hillsdale attempted a 37-yard field goal. However, the field goal was pushed right as Northwood regained possession and the score remained 6-0.
• The Chargers capitalized on fourth and goal with a one-yard rushing touchdown to cap 57-yard drive under four minutes to go in the half. This pushed the Hillsdale lead to 13-0.  
• Northwood found the endzone for the first time in the contest with just over thirty seconds to go in the half. Brec Alward finished NU's 10-play, 57-yard drive with a four-yard run as the Timberwolves put the score at 13-7 going into halftime.
• Hillsdale set the tone for the second half on the opening drive after the break, going 65 yards over 2:45 to reach the endzone and push their lead to 20-7.
• HC continued their second half scoring with 7:05 to go in the third quarter with another touchdown. The extra point stretched the Charger lead to 27-7.
• The Charger momentum carried over into the fourth quarter, as Hillsdale added two more touchdowns to make the final 41-7.
