Men's Basketball Loses At Hillsdale 88-66

HILLSDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University men's basketball team dropped an 88-66 contest at Hillsdale Thursday night (January 14).

Northwood falls to 9-6 overall, 5-4 in the GLIAC. Hillsdale improves to 10-3 overall, 6-3 in the GLIAC.

The opening half was tight throughout – neither team led by more than five points in the opening 20 minutes. Hillsdale ended up taking a 37-36 lead to the locker room. NU shot 45.5 percent from the floor in the frame (15-33) while Hillsdale ended up at 46.7 percent (14-30).

Hillsdale dominated the second half, out-scoring the Timberwolves 51-30. The Chargers shot 60.0 percent from the floor (18-30) and 50.0 percent from 3-point range (7-14).

For the game, the Chargers shot 53.3 percent overall (32-60) and 48.3 percent from 3-point range (14-29). NU ended up at 39.0 percent (23-59) overall and 28.0 percent from beyond the arc (7-25).

Dylan Langkabel (Morristown, Ind.) led Northwood with 21 points. Maurice Jones (Saginaw, Mich./Arthur Hill) added 12, while Jermaine Myers (Ajax, Ontario) added 11. Casey Boyle (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds.

Northwood will host rival Saginaw Valley State Saturday night (January 16). Game time is set for 6 p.m.
