Men's Basketball Signs Kyle Lamotte and Jure Prus To Letters of Intent

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's basketball has inked a pair of student-athletes to National Letters of Intent Wednesday (April 13).

Kyle Lamotte (Mason, Ohio/William Mason) and Jure Prus (Novo Mesto, Slovania) will join the Timberwolves for the 2016-17 season.

Lamotte is a 6-3 guard who was the Player of the Year in the Greater Miami Conference at Mason High School. He earned Third Team All-State honors in Ohio as well as First Team All-District. Lamotte led Mason to an undefeated record in GMC play.

"We are excited to have Kyle become a part of our program," said Northwood head coach Jeff Rekeweg. "His athleticism from the guard position will fill an immediate need. He is used to winning and will bring toughness to our program."

Prus comes to Northwood as a 6-1 combo guard who recently played at the Combine Basketball Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. While playing there, he averaged 17 points and five assists per game while earning team MVP honors. He shot 41 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the foul line. Prus led his team to a fourth place finish at the NACA National Tournament.

"Jure brings strength, toughness and a great basketball IQ to our program," said Rekeweg. "He will have a chance to make an immediate impact for us next season."
