Trey McBride Named To The All-GLIAC & All-GLIAC Defense Team

2017-18 All-GLIAC Teams

BIG RAPIDS, MICH. – Sophomore guard Trey McBride (Cincinnati, Ohio / Moeller (Mt. Vernon Nazarene) from the Northwood University men's basketball team has earned a pair of honors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), the league announced Friday (March 2).

McBride earned both Second Team All-GLIAC honors as well as All-GLIAC Defense team recognition.

In his first year with the program, McBride turned into Northwood's best all-around player. He led the team in scoring (12.3 points per game) and steals (1.9 per game) while standing third in rebounds (3.9 per game and assists (2.0 per game). McBride scored in double figures 19 times this season, including 14 of the final 17 games of the season.

McBride is the first Northwood player to earn All-GLIAC honors since Maurice Jones was named First Team All-GLIAC following the 2015-16 season. McBride is also Northwood's first All-Defense team member since Will Bowles and Darvin Ham after the 2013-14 campaign.

Northwood more than doubled their overall and league win total from the previous season this year, going 11-17 overall and 7-13 in the GLIAC.
