Men's Basketball Inks Jack Ammerman To Letter Of Intent

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's basketball program has announced the signing of Jack Ammerman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Skyline) to a national letter of intent.

"In recruiting Jack, we needed to replace one of the best three-point shooters in school history in Nick Spitzley," said head coach Jeff Rekeweg. "We feel strongly that Jack will be able to come in right away and make an impact there.  He's also much more athletic than he looks and takes a lot of pride in his defense and his midrange game. Jack is used to winning and he should have a chance to get in the rotation right away. We are thrilled to have him join our team."

Ammerman, a 6-0 guard, was a four-year varsity player for Ann Arbor Skyline. A three-year captain, he scored 1,267 points in his career. Ammerman earn All-Conference and Dream Team honors three times. He finished in the top 20 in the state in free throw and 3-point percentage in 2017. Skyline went 23-1 in the 2017-18 season and finished with a 20-0 record in the regular season. Ammerman was named Honorable Mention All-State by both the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press.

Northwood posted 11 wins last season, a six-win improvement from the previous season. The Timberwolves lose just three seniors from their 13-player roster a year ago.
