Men's Basketball Falls To Davenport 90-72

SCORE: Davenport Panthers 90, Northwood Timberwolves 72
RECORDS: Northwood (6-9, 3-4 GLIAC), Davenport (12-2, 5-2 GLIAC)

RECAP: Davenport earned a 90-72 road win over Northwood Thursday night (January 10).
FIRST HALF
- Northwood scored eight of the first 10 points for an early six-point lead.
- That was the biggest lead of the opening 16 minutes.
- Davenport led 31-29 with less than four minutes remaining in the half when the Panthers made a late push.
- The Panthers went on a 13-2 push over the final 3:43 to take a 44-31 lead at halftime.
- Northwood's offense was off in the opening 20 minutes, going 11-31 overall (35.5 percent). NU did connect on 4-9 from 3-point range in the half (44.4 percent).
- The Panthers finished the half hot to end up at 58.3 percent overall (14-24). Davenport also went 5-8 from 3-point range (62.5 percent) and 11-11 from the foul line.
SECOND HALF
- Davenport led the entire second half, but Northwood made a run late to get within two possessions.
- After falling behind by as many as 16, the Timberwolves cut the lead to 71-65 with under six minutes remaining.
- Davenport responded with 3-point shooting – the Panthers hit triples on three straight possessions to get the lead back to 80-65 with 4:21 remaining.
- NU got no closer than 13 the rest of the way.
- PNW had a big half offensively, shooting 20-37 overall (54.1 percent) while going 4-8 from 3-point range).
- The Timberwolves fell back to 40.0 percent in the second half (12-30).
