Men's Basketball Falls To Grand Valley State 67-63

FIRST HALF

  • Grand Valley scored eight of the first 12 points clung to 12-9 lead in a low-scoring first 10 minutes.  
  • Northwood responded with a 9-6 run to tie the game at 18
  • The Timberwolves finished the first half strong, rattling off a 16-6 run to pull ahead 34-24 after the first.
  • NU made 42.3 percent of their shots from the floor (11-26), including 30 percent from behind the arc (3-10).
  • GVSU shot 37 percent from the field, missing all six of their three-point attempts (0-6).

SECOND HALF

  • Northwood led by nine (47-38) with under ten minutes remaining when the Lakers made the key run to earn the win.
  • GVSU tied the game for the first time in the second half at 49-49, finishing off an 11-2 run.
  • Grand Valley State took their first lead since the opening half at the 2:10 mark at 59-56.
  • NU got back within one, but the Lakers went 6-6 from the foul line over the final 14 seconds to hold off the Timberwolves.
  • The Timberwolves made 33 percent of their attempts from the floor in the second (9-27), including 27.3 percent from three-point range (3-11).
  • The Lakers shot 43 percent from the field (13-30), including 20 percent from behind the arc (1-5).
