Men's Basketball Drops 85-84 Heartbreaker To #8 Davenport In GLIAC Quarterfinals

FIRST HALF
- The opening half was extremely close the majority of the way, with the biggest lead for either team in the opening 15 minutes standing at three points.
- Northwood led 25-22 when Davenport went on the first real run of the game, scoring 11 straight points to go up 33-25.
- The Timberwolves fought back to get the lead down to one before the Panthers eventually led 43-39 at the break.
- NU finished the opening 20 minutes at 39.0 percent from the floor (16-41), compared to DU at 50.0 percent (13-26).
- Northwood held a 12-2 edge in offensive rebounds in the half, which allowed them to get off 15 more field goal attempts.
SECOND HALF
- The Timberwolves tied the game at 51-51 just over five minutes into the second half.
- Northwood then took the lead at 55-54, which set up a back-and-forth final 13 minutes.
- NU led 60-55 for their biggest lead of the half, but the Panthers came back to eventually lead 79-74 with 2:37 remaining.
- Northwood responded with six straight points of their own, capped by a Jack Ammerman 3-ponter with 1:04 remaining to give Northwood an 80-79 lead.
- Davenport came back with the next four points to go up 83-80 with 36 seconds remaining.
- DU's lead was 85-84 with seven seconds remaining when the Panthers missed a pair of free throws, giving the Timberwolves a chance to go earn the win. But Northwood turned it over on their final possession, giving the win to Davenport.
