Men's Basketball Improves To 2-0 With 66-56 Win At Davenport

RECAP: Northwood improves to 2-0 on the season with a 66-56 road win at Davenport Saturday (January 9).
FIRST HALF
- The first half was a tightly played, defensive struggle for the majority of play.
- The largest lead for either team in the opening 15 minutes was five points.
- With just over five minutes remaining in the half, Northwood made a push, scoring 13 of the final 17 points to take a 28-18 lead at the break.
- The Timberwolves ended the half shooting 33.3 percent overall (8-24) and 11.1 percent from 3-point range (1-9).
- DU was 7-25 overall (28.0 percent) and 0-10 from beyond the arc.
- NU earned the lead thanks to going 11-12 from the foul line (91.7 percent), compared to Davenport at 4-9 (44.4 percent).
SECOND HALF
- Northwood pushed the lead to 11 early in the second half before Davenport fought back.
- DU took their first lead of the second half at 39-38.
- The key stretch of the game started with 6:31 remaining. With NU leading 46-45, Northwood went on a 13-1 run in less than three minutes to open up a 59-47 lead.
- Davenport got no closer than seven the remainder of the game.
- The Timberwolves went 10-24 from the floor overall (41.7 percent) and 1-8 from 3-point range (12.5 percent). Northwood was 17-25 from the foul line (68.0 percent)
- Davenport had similar shooting numbers to the Timberwolves overall, going 10-26 overall (38.5 percent). DU improved from 3-point range (3-10) and from the foul line (15-19 – 78.9 percent) in the second half.
