Men's Basketball Falls To GVSU 67-51

RECAP: Northwood men's basketball drops 67-51 against Grand Valley State to finish the regular season Saturday (February 27).
FIRST HALF
- After struggling yesterday against GVSU, Northwood played much better in the first half today.
- NU scored the opening five points of the contest and led by as many as six.
- Northwood led 21-16 with 7:37 remaining in the half when the Lakers went on a run, scoring 13 of the next 14 points to go up 29-22.
- The Timberwolves cut into that lead before the break, making the score 31-29 at the break.
- Grand Valley ended the opening 20 minutes shooting 46.2 percent overall (12-26). GVSU was 1-5 from 3-point range (20.0 percent) and 6-9 from the foul line (66.7 percent).
- Northwood was 10-26 from the floor in the first half, good for 38.5 percent. NU went 3-10 from beyond the arc (30.0 percent) and 6-8 from the foul line (75.0 percent).
SECOND HALF
- The Lakers took control in the second half from the start, scoring the first 11 points and 19 of the first 21 points to go up 52-31.
- The lead grew to as many as 22. Northwood got no closer than 15 the remainder of the way.
- GVSU shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the half (13-26) in the half while making 57.1 percent from 3-point range (4-7). The Lakers were 6-7 from the foul line (85.7 percent).
- Northwood struggled in the half, making just 7-25 from the floor (28.0 percent). NU was 2-12 from 3-point range (16.7 percent) overall and 6-8 from the foul line (75.0 percent).
