Men's Basketball Loses At Purdue Northwest 68-65

RECAP: Northwood men's basketball drops a hard-fought 68-65 contest at Purdue Northwest Wednesday evening (February 16).

FIRST HALF

• Northwood started the game hot on offense, making eight of their first 11 shots from the floor to take a 19-9 lead with 11:50 remaining in the half.
• NU's offense struggled the remainder of the half, scoring just five points the rest of the way while making two of their final 15 field goal attempts.
• The Pride out-scored Northwood 22-4 in the final 11:50 to take a 31-23 lead at the break.
• Northwood finished the first half shooting 38.5 percent from the floor, making 10-26 overall (38.5 percent). NU was 2-11 from the 3-point line and 2-3 from the foul line.
• PWN ended the opening 20 minutes shooting 46.2 percent overall (12-26). The Pride were 3-9 from the 3-point line and 4-6 on free throws.

SECOND HALF

• The Pride got their lead to nine early in the second half, which proved to be the largest lead of the final 20 minutes.
• PNW led 62-55 with under five minutes remaining, but the Timberwolves fought back with 10 of the next 12 points to take a 65-64 lead with one minute remaining.
• The Pride went 4-6 from the foul line in the final minute of the game and held the Timberwolves off the board, giving Purdue Northwest the win.
• Northwood jumped up to 51.6 percent from the floor in the second half, making 16 of 31 overall. NU was 9-12 from the free throw line but missed all five of their 3-point attempts.
• Purdue Northwest was 11-30 from the floor in the second half (36.7 percent). PNW was 1-6 from the 3-point line and 14-17 at the foul line.
