Men's Basketball Falls To Parkside 79-74 On Senior Day

RECAP: Northwood men's basketball sees first half lead slip away in the final game of their season, falling 79-74 to Parkside on Senior Day Saturday afternoon (February 26).
FIRST HALF
- Northwood started the game strong, opening the contest with a 10-2 run.
- The Timberwolves got their lead to as many as 13 twice in the half before the Rangers finished strong.
- Parkside scored 17 of the final 26 points of the half to make the score 36-32 at the break.
- Northwood shot the ball well in the opening half, making 50.0 percent overall (12-24). NU was 3-8 from 3-point range and 9-10 at the foul line.
- Parkside was 12-28 from the floor in the first, good for 42.9 percent overall. The Rangers made 2-10 from the 3-point line and 6-8 at the foul line.
SECOND HALF
- UWP tied the game less than two minutes into the half and eventually took their first lead of the game at 48-46 with 14:42 remaining.
- The key part of the game came with six minutes remaining in the contest, with the Rangers leading 60-59. Parkside used an 11-2 run to get the lead to 71-61 with two minutes to go.
- NU got within three twice in the final 30 seconds but were unable to get any closer.
- The Rangers jumped up to 55.6 percent shooting in the second half, making 15-27 overall. They made 5-8 from 3-point range and 12-17 at the foul line.
- Northwood had another strong half shooting in the second, going 14-26 overall (53.8 percent). The Timberwolves were hot from the 3-point line, making 6-7 and connected on all four of their free throw attempts.
