- The key stretch of the game came right away. After Northwood scored the opening two points of the game, Malone put up 20 straight to lead 20-2 at the 14:13 mark.
- The Malone advantage grew to as many as 23 (31-8) in the half before Northwood fought back, eventually cutting the lead to 45-29 in the final minute of the half.
