Men's Golf Places Eighth At GLIAC Championships

The Northwood University men's golf team placed eighth at the GLIAC Championships Tuesday afternoon (October 16).

The three-day, 54-hole event was held at the Elyria Country Club. The course played as a 6,736 yard, par 72.

Northwood shot team scores of 314, 294 and 297 to finish at 905 overall. Grand Valley State rallied in the final round to place first at 880, followed by Ferris State at 889.

Freshman Matt Benson (Grand Ledge, Mich.) continued his strong play this fall, tying for third overall with a three-day total of 217. His one-over par score featured rounds of 74, 69 and 74. Blair Turner (Midland, Mich.) tied for 21st at 227 (81-73-73).
