Men's Golf Finishes 23rd At The NCAA Fall Regional #1

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Northwood University men's golf team competed at the NCAA Fall Regional #1 Sunday and Monday (Sept. 29-30).

The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Harborside Golf Resort. The teams played one round at the Port Course (par 72, 6,956 yards) and the Starboard Course (par 72, 6,928 yards).

Northwood shot team scores of 307-321 to place 23^rd overall. Malone was the overall winner at 590 (291-299) while Lake Superior State placed second at 596 (292-304). A total of 34 teams took part in the event.

Matt Garland (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) led the way for Northwood, carding rounds of 71 and 82 to finish at 153 overall, good for a tie for 45^th. Matt Benson (Grand Ledge, Mich.) tied for 59^th at 154 (76-78).

Northwood will compete at the GLIAC Championship October 9-11 in Georgetown, Kentucky.
