Men's Golf Places 10th At GLIAC Spring Invitational
NASHPORT, OHIO – The Northwood University men's golf team tied for 10th at the GLIAC Spring Invitational Sunday afternoon (April 19).
The two-day, 36-hole event was hosted by Ohio Dominican University at the Longaberger Golf Club. The course played as a 7,106 yard par 72.
Northwood shot team scores of 319-303 to finish at 622 overall. NU's second round score of 303 was the second-best score on the day. Lake Superior State was the overall winner at 599, followed by Tiffin (602) and Grand Valley State (608). The final results were close – only six shots separated fifth through 12th place.
Paul Ostby (Mt. Morris, Mich./Mott CC) led the way for Northwood, carding rounds of 78 and 70 to finish at 148 overall. That total was good for a tie for third overall. Matt Garland (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) tied for 44th at 157 (76-81). A total of 89 players competed in the event.
