Men's Golf Places Seventh At The Jewell

BATAVIA, OHIO – The Northwood University men's golf team placed seventh out of 25 teams at the Jewell at Elks Run Regional Tournament Sunday (April 3).

The two-day, 36-hole event was hosted at the Elks Run Golf Club. The course played as a 6,673 yard, par 71.

The Timberwolves shot matching team scores of 309-309 to finish at 618. Tiffin was the overall winner at 597 (303-294), followed by Indianapolis at 602 (301-301) and Grand Valley State at 605 (304-301).

Northwood's lineup was balanced, as the five players in the NU lineup were separated by a total of five shots. Leading the way for Northwood was senior Paul Ostby (Mt. Morris, Mich./Mott CC). He carded rounds of 76 and 77 to finish at 153 overall, good for a 19^th place finish. Matt Garland (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) tied for 26^th at 155 (78-77). A total of 125 players took part in the event.

NU will travel to the fourth Midwest Region Tournament April 11-12 in Noblesville, Ind.
