Men's Golf Opens Season With Second Place Finish At Music City Invitational

OVERVIEW – MUSIC CITY INVITATIONAL

RECAP: Northwood opened their 2020-21 season with a strong showing, placing second out of 17 teams at the Music City Invitational Monday-Tuesday (March 15-16)

INSIDE THE EVENT

• Northwood shot team scores of 287 and 290 to finish one-over par overall at 577.
• NU held the lead after one round, but eventually finished second to host Trevecca Nazarene, who shot an eight-under par 280 in the final round to finish at 570 to earn the win.
• Ferris State placed third at 581 (294-287), while Ashland placed fourth at 582 (291-291).
• A total of 17 teams took part in the event.

TOP NU PERFORMERS

• Austin Deiters: 69-70=139 – third overall
• Brandt Nelson: 70-74=144 – tied for 10th
• James Staab: 73-72=145 – tied for 14th
• A total of 88 players competed in the tournament
