Men's Golf Earns Pair Of All-GLIAC Honorees
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's golf team placed a pair players on the All Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team, the league announced Wednesday (April 28).
Senior Austin Deiters earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors. Fellow senior Brandt Nelson was named Honorable Mention.
Deiters has earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors three seasons in a row. He ended the year with a scoring average of 73.9 this season, which places him fourth in a season in school history. Deiters had Northwood's top individual result of the season, placing third out of 88 players at the Music City Invitational with a two-round total of -5 (69-70). He finished the season with an individual winning percentage of .718 (321-126).
Nelson's statistics were nearly identical to Deiters, finishing with a scoring average of 74.1. Over the course of 12 rounds this year, Deiters finished with 961 total strokes compared to Nelson at 963. Nelson's individual win percentage is identical to Deiters' at .718 (321-126). Nelson had three top-20 finishes in five events.
